The All-Star break is upon and we are now a little over halfway through the season so lets see how my predictions from the beginning of the season are holding up, it's much better than usual that's for sure...
Prediction Standings as of All-Star Break
AL East- Tampa Bay Rays AL East- Boston Red Sox
AL Central- Detroit Tigers AL Central- Detroit Tigers
AL West- Oakland A's AL West- Oakland A's
Wild Card- Blue Jays Wild Card- Tampa Bay Rays
Wild Card- Baltimore Orioles Wild Card- Texas Rangers
MVP- Bautista TOR MVP- Cabrera DET
CY- Verlander DET CY- Scherzer DET
NL East- Washington Nats NL East- Atlanta Braves
NL Central- Cincinnati Reds NL Central- St. Louis
NL West- San Francisco Giants NL West- Arizona Diamondbacks
Wild Card- LA Dodgers Wild Card- Pittsburgh Pirates
Wild Card- St. Louis Cardinals Wild Card- Cincinnati Reds
MVP- Harper WAS MVP- Votto CIN
CY- Kershaw LAD CY- Harvey NYM
Not too bad it usually is much worse, if the playoffs started today I would have picked 3 AL teams correctly and 2 NL correctly. Now it's time to see if my mid season predictions will be even better of just the kiss of death....
AL East- Tampa Bay Rays
With their call up of super prospect Wil Myers they are finally scoring and have the best overall pitching staff in the AL.
AL Central- Detroit Tigers
Even with their horrible bullpen they will win this division going away. Could they set their sights on adding Perkins for the stretch run?
AL West- Oakland A's
I'm still a believer in this team outlasting the Rangers to win the West.
AL Wild Cards- Baltimore Orioles & Texas Rangers
I think the Red Sox are playing much better then they actually are. I think they finish 3rd behind Tampa and Baltimore and then there are no other teams to really challenge the Rangers for the last spot.
NL East- Atlanta Braves
Washington's start will end up costing them a chance at the playoffs.
NL Central- St. Louis Cardinals
In probably the toughest division in baseball this season, the Cardinals will hold off the Reds and Pirates forcing them to play in the playoff game.
NL West- Los Angeles Dodgers
This pick is more of the fact that I don't think the Diamondbacks and Rockies are for real and will falter in the 2nd half. They both have already let the Dodgers get within 2.5 games of first place.
NL Wild Cards- Pittsburgh Pirates & Cincinnati Reds
These were the easiest picks. If you look at the NL it's pretty much a given that the top 3 teams from the NL Central will make it.
World Series 2013
St. Louis Cardinals over the Tampa Bay Rays in 5 games.
Cardinals are one of the best organizations in baseball right now and can seem to do no wrong.
